Rhinestone Beaded Necklace

Rhinestone and etched silver bead necklace. Antique English sterling silver man's watch fob is the centerpice of this necklace, one of my favorite pieces. The beads are mix of vintage and new gemstones. Very versatile; can be worn casually with jeans or on a more dressy occasion as pictured. (At the 2005 Jefferson-Jackson dinner with Lt. Gov. Tim Kaine).

Turner & Ashby at The Belle Hearth Inn

This is Turner & Ashby at Daddy's military school reunion in April 2005. We stayed at a wonderful Victorian-era B&B called the Belle Hearth Inn (http://www.bellehearth.com/) in Waynesboro in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It's trips like these to B&Bs and antique shops that I draw my inspiration when designing my jewelry pieces.

St.Christopher's School Fall Festival Show

The Friday & Saturday of October 22nd & 23rd I participated in a school fund-raiser at St.Christopher's school in Richmond, Virginia. There is always a theme to each group of jewelry I complete. The theme for this group was Religious medals , in particular those who watch over us , protect us. The pieces for this show were all one of a kind w/mixed beads, silver, & ribbon pieces. The majority of the necklaces centered around silver & enamel St.Christopher medals & Mary Magdalene medals I ordered from France & England . The vintage medals I found were so intricately detailed . Alone they are works of art. The show went very well. I met some new friends, ran into some old friends, & had a great time.
I really enjoyed finding all of the trinkets & bits to pull this group together. I don't think I am finished with this group yet. I am still intrigued by the beauty of the medals, as well as the history & symbolism that goes with them . Besides, I am caught up in the thrill of the hunt... I have some pieces that I have started & some I will be looking for that one piece to bring everything together. Anyway there is more to come ...

This choker was created using black velvet, lace fillagris and antique beads, incorporating new elements with vintage elements. One of my favorite pieces I've designed in quite some time -- see how it dresses up the layered sweater and shirts? Casual elegance.

St. Christopher's Necklace 1

This St. Christopher's necklace was made using an antique St. Christopher's medal from England as the centerpiece. The cloisonne enamel has chipped away in just the right places to make a wonderful patina. The beads and tiny chain selected complement the medal.
